It's been a big 12 months for Sydney band Revivewith the release of their second album, Trafalgar Streetand a series of Australian concerts with US Christian rockers Third Day which resulted in an invitation to record in the US with Third Day's Mac Powell.
It's been an exciting rollercoast ride. The current album, Trafalgar Street was a risk taking adventure which saw Revive work with Australian ARIA winnning producer David Nicholas (Veronicas, INXS, Zed and Sir Elton John!).
The experience produced one of the top albums in Australian Christian music in 2007. In August Revive flew out to the USA at the invitation of Third Day vocalist Mac Powell to spend time recording new material with him at his home in Atlanta.
The Early Days
For Revive it started when Dave Hanbury and Tyler Hall were introduced by a mutual friend. A friendship quickly struck up between the musicians and the band Me & Ty came into existence.
2004 and soon after the launch of their debut album Going Up?, Rich Thompson (bass) and Mike TenKate (drums) joined Dave (vocals) and Ty (guitar) to complete the band.
With a new line up came a new band which more reflected the full band sound. The boys adopted a new name - Revive. The band saw this as representative of the band, as they seek to encourage, challenge, and see revival.
Revive's first album Where I Belong was produced by Phil Gaudion, most know as a member of the Paul Colman Trio.
